Agriculture plays a vital role in the Indian economy. It is the backbone of our economic system. Over 70% of the rural household depends on agriculture. Agriculture is an important sector of Indian economy as it contributes about 17% to the total GDP and provides employment to over 60% of the population.
But, the agriculture goes through many problems, the major problem in the current system is the inefficiency produced by intermediaries at different phases of farming, other than intermediaries, farmer face problems like lack of mechanisms for unexpected weather conditions such as rainfall, lack of capital, inability to raise funds, denial of credit from financial institutes, vitality in crop prices, lack of infrastructure required for high yield, beside these problems post harvesting phases inefficiency in storing the harvested crops or collected food grains which gives boost to the wastage of food.
Hence, it leads to less income in the production in sometimes the farmers become depress in they take dangerous design they commit suicide. Due to this very less people are interested to do agriculture and work as a farmer.
